The number of helpers to create an Observable is not obvious when starting to look at RX (this is inevitable, documentation always lags), and second it helps to understand why RX is the way it is. Of course Subject&lt;T&gt; can be used in pretty much the way the first version of ObserverableSource&lt;T&gt; will be (just to emphasise the point :-)).</description>
